Thoughts on Macworld: Post-Keynote
And so it happened - the iPhone was released. And for some reason, I’m not as excited about it as I thought I would be. Mainly because of it’s outer casing, which is the glossy black that Apple has recently been promoting.
Apple TV looks sufficient, but an included DVR would have sealed the deal for me. I can already play movies, music, photos, and more from my laptop by hooking it up to the TV which takes a very short time. So why do I need a 300 dollar device to prevent me walking 20 feet?
And last but not least - where is iLife and iWork? These are two products I look forward to every year and was disappointed when they wasn’t even mentioned. I was excited about iWork 07 because of a new version of Keynote (apparently it’s supposed to be completely revamped) and hopefully the inclusion of a spreadsheet app.
Overall, a moderate MacWorld. The iPhone isn’t that “revolutionary” but is definitely nice. The Apple TV is nice but a waste of cash, and no iWork and iLife was a turn-off.
